Conceptual Image

Below are many different ideas for the conceptual image all centering around the violence and death in the agriculture/food industry.

While researching forks I found the image below and liked the simplicity of the blood drop.

I choose to do the image of a fork with blood on it. Below is the image of the fork I used to trace in illustrator.

Below is the first sketch of the fork.

Below is a picture I took of a viscous liquid running down a fork to help me draw the blood.

Graphic Translation

Below are the hen images I considered

Below is the hen image I chose to graphically translate.

I started with the idea of "The Freethinking Hen"

Then chose "The Museful Hen"

I realized I was trying to graphiclally translate the entire hen body but only wanted to use the bust in the logo.

I thought this assignment was pretty tough and I'm not overly excited about my finished product, although I have spent so much time with the museful hen that I have grown fond of her. 

Easier to look at a graphically translated object and say, "Oh, yea, that makes sense; I can do that, " than actually doing it!
